Becoming a qualified driving instructor (ADI) means meeting strict standards set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. You must pass all three parts of the qualification process within 2 years and demonstrate not just driving ability, but professional teaching skill.
This is a structured, high-level qualification. Done properly, it leads to a long-term career or business.
This is a professional-level assessment, far more rigorous than the standard learner test.
A 60-minute advanced driving test where you must demonstrate near-perfection.
The final and most challenging stage. You are assessed on your teaching methodology.
Master the DVSA National Standard for driving. You'll study the Highway Code, instructional techniques, and essential car mechanics in preparation for the professional theory test.
Develop your driving to an expert level. This stage focuses on removing bad habits and perfecting your judgment, observation, and vehicle control on all road types.
Apply for a 6-month pink licence. This is the "earn while you learn" phase where you'll teach real students under our mentorship to build genuine instructional experience.
The final hurdle. You'll be assessed on your ability to plan and deliver a safe, effective lesson. We provide intensive training to ensure you meet the 'Grade A' standard.
Register as a fully qualified Green Badge holder. You now have the flexibility to run your own business, join our fleet, and command professional rates.
